Whoa(is that how you spell it?) is me....

I did it, I started and finished in one day!!! I have never before been so efficient at Christmas shopping, I can't tell you what I bought because Thing 1 and Thing 2 know about this Blog, IDK if they actually read it but it is a fav on their explorer list. I even bought something for the SCB, that ought to make her feel bad(probably not), I need a couple more things for Knuckles but for the most part his Dad is responsible for that. Oh and my little brother, but I know what I am getting him, just have to wait for the next paycheck. Anybody else finished, anybody  wanna come and help me wrap? The sucky thing is everything has to be wrapped by tomorrow afternoon because Knuckles comes to spend his 3.5 days with us. The tree is up, the menu is planned, the presents are bought, no lights on the outside of the house but only because we can't find an electrical outlet...lol. All of that, it is even remotely cold here but I still just don't feel it. Bah-Humbug? Not really, just scared I think, I have never hosted before and I think I am worried about disappointing....

So here is the Story....

There are three women four if you include me that work in our office(small office 800sqft). Two of them are reasonable we will call them older lady and Hispanic lady... the third we will call self centered bitch....

My boss comes to me  a few weeks ago and says that because SCB doesn't enjoy being treated like a secretary she and I are going to change desks. Mind you I have my own office far removed from all the typical office gossip etc. I enjoy being by myself and my peace and quiet.  Boss man says that I have a much more calm demeanor and that I am better suited to answer the phone and sign people in for meetings etc.

Some history.....SCB has worked for the County for 12 yrs. in those 12 years she has worked in 7 different sections. I have worked for the County for 8.5 yrs and always for the same division. She will whine and stomp her feet and get what ever it is that she feels is necessary all at the expense of OL, HL, or myself. This last time before Boss approached me about the move  SCB came to me and said that she was going to request the move because her job as boss mans admin. support was too taxing along with answering telly  and  signing people in. Now I hold the same position as SCB except I do this job for two people not one.

So here I sit at my new desk in the middle of it all Smiling and gritting my teeth and wondering if boss man and SCB have something going on the side, I would never speak to him the way she does, she talks to him like she is yelling at a dog....

My question...is there anything I can do , or do I just hang on and hope she moves on?!? I literally HATE working with her but I love the job I do, not including answering phones etc..., HELP ME!?!

Poem...

No one who has ever known me has ever truly appreciated the experience, as I am a beautiful misunderstood shadow full of wisdom and sex appeal. Every single person whose life has been touched by my presence remains in a stalled state of wistful remorse, except for moments when God visits them with shooting pains for leaving me and forgetting me. I sit on my throne built from memories, wishing I wasn't so alone....

Update.....

As I type this I have a five pound ball of terror sitting on my lap chewing on my belt buckle, Eevee is an absolutly lovely child, she pees and poops when told and MOSTLY outside, she sleeps all the way through the night albiet on my head, and eats solid food at a mere 8 weeks old. Needless to say (then don't say it right!) Our family is absolutley enamored.

On another note, instead of closing on our new house on the 12th we are closing today and should have the keys by Friday...we have not even started packing yet, although I have been collecting boxes since we put in the offer. We are moving in this weekend...anybody wanna get paid to pack up my house while I go to work the rest of the week? Oh and the 20 loads of laundry and dishes that need to be done, ya you could do those to....kthxbye!! I am so excited I just can't even begin to explain...I will never have to move again. I counted once and between my parents and my two ex- husbands I have moved a total of 24 times since I was old enough to start counting/remembering.

One lsat thing...I HATE MY JOB. Enough said. Love and kisses to all Hope your week is as good as mine is shaping up to be!!

And she has a name....

So it took us two days of hugs and smooching little puppy lips but she finally decided to share her name with us. Internet meet our little Evee....
Thing one, thing two, and Knuckles are all so happy....well so am I but you know....the puppy was for the kids...lol I love her. Off to the Vet today, she came with a health guarantee but only if we take her in to see the Vet within 48 hours of purchase. Sounds like I bought a pair of shoes not a dog. So tell me what you think? Is it the best christmas present ever....I think so!

Please help....

I got this from DELMER and I couldn't help but share, even if you can't help, pass it on to everyone you know so maybe they can! I don't believe in fighting wars we don't need to be involved in but I FULLY support our boys who do. I try to keep quite about strong issues or should I say beliefs, (I didn't even know my husband was a republican until voting day when the little lady said..."dinner discussions must be interesting with one rep. and one demo...") because I think as personal opinions ...they should stay just that. Personal.I have a question.... has anyone else noticed how the blogging community is or has become so focused on politics? I didn't start reading blogs because I was interested in other peoples political opinions...I started reading to find people with my same problems and such. I started writing my OWN blog because it is a nice way to vent and talk to people and feel close(but not too close) to others as I don't make friends very easily. I know this is stream of consciousness but I am venting, humor me.  I enjoy hearing about others days and knowing I am not the only one who occasionally wants to strangle my teenage kids (I LOVE THEM WITH ALL MY HEART) even though I never really would.... Can we start getting back to our lives and leave politics alone, or alone until he makes a mistake at least....

That is all...for now. I am sorry if I offended anyone, I didn't mean it personally to anyone in particular as we all seem slightly obsessed right now. Hopefully this does not change any ones mind about whether or not they still read my blog, I don't have enough friends yet to go pissing everyone off. I love all of you and I am just venting.

Will it work???

I read this over at Mid-Century Moms and I think I am going to give it a shot, cause up until now I have been doing everything this says not to and...I am losing my mind one small peice at a time.....

1. Feign deafness.  This bothers your teen when she is trying to ask for something.  And believe me, the only time she'll talk to you is when she is trying to ask for something.
2. Agree with everything she says.  "Yes, dear, I am horrible."  "No, dear, I don't understand."  For the love of God, do not try to reason with said teen.  Therein lies madness.
3. Do not attempt to engage your teen in lighthearted chat.  The withering glare you will receive would make Medusa seem friendly.
4. Try not to hang out with friends whose teens seem to be perfect.  It's too painful.
5. If your teen continues to act particularly unpleasant, leave his/her name and number at the local military recruiter's office.  Remember, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Wish me luck, updates soon...

Things that I am Thankful for....

I recently came across a blog of someone I haven't seen in years and she had her Thanksgiving post up already. I have decided since so many wonderful things have happened lately that I would follow suit.
  • Our new house passed the inspection and everything is progressing beautifully.
  • THE PUPPY (self explanatory)
  • My children are healthy and happy and unconditionally wonderful all around.
  • I have a husband that I love and puts up with ALL my nonsense(so he must love me...right?)
  • I have a JOB ( not easy to come by these days if you don't already have one.)
  • I enjoy (mostly) the people I work with, which is good since I have to spend a lot of time with them...)
  • The weather here in Tucson is FANTASTIC right now.
  • Our friends D&A (for now, I will have to come up with nicknames for them soon) had us over for dinner Sat. night and we realized the new house is less than 10 minutes from theirs. we currently live almost 1/2 hour from them and can't wait to see them more often.
  • Wordless Wed...... THE PUPPY

XX.....see you soon!

If the inspection goes well and we run into no unforseen issues we get the keys on Dec. 12th, that means technically we could be settled in for our first Christmas!! I can not even begin to tell you guys what a hugh step in my life this is, I feel like I am finally on the right path and am doing something proactive for myself and Family! Holy CRAP......

I love her, her name is Daisy...she is just over 2 weeks old. She comes home to stay on Dec. 1st She is a full bred French Bulldog and I think I may not get another present all year, but if I have to use them all up at once, She is totally worth it! I also have other good news, we made an offer on a house last night....YIKES! It is an amazing house, in an older part of town, close to U of A and good supermarkets(Wild Oats and Trader Joe's) It has 3 big bedrooms and a formal dining room, huge living room and just enough kitchen to be comfy. The yard is fantastic as well, it has all local vegetation that is very low maintenance, no watering or mowing, maybe some trimming but that is it! I even took Thing 1 and she said "I could Totally see myself living here" I can't tell you how much that Rocks! I had a GREAT day yesterday...how about you, share your day with me?

I work in a small office with three other women and my guess is between menopause and periods we are all too catty for our own good. More later.....
On a more happy note, Go Barack!

Happy Anniversary Frankie......

I love the way you look at me,
Your eyes so bright and blue.
I love the way you kiss me,
Your lips so soft and smooth.

I love the way you make me smile,
And the ways you show you care.
I love the way you say, "I Love You,"
And the way you're always there.

I love the way you touch me,
Sending chills down my spine.
I love that you are with me,
And glad that you are mine.

I love you so deeply,
I love you so much,
I love the sound of your voice
And the way that we touch.
I love your warm smile
And your kind, thoughtful way,

The joy that you bring

To my life every day.
I love you today
As I have from the start,
And I will love you forever
With all of my heart.

The great search.....

So Frankie and I have been looking for a house.... We have physically looked at about 20 houses so far, I never imagined that there would be so so many houses in our price range. We found a house that we both liked and decided it would be a good idea to have pa-pa come check it out since he is a structural engineer. Shot down our dreams. Starting all over from square one...I am so very tired.
On a happier note tomorrow (Halloween) is our third anniversary! We are checking into one of the fabulous Tucson resorts for the night. Champagne and chocolate strawberries upon check in, five star dinner and a huge marble bathtub for dessert;)I can't wait. This will be the first year we have a sitter for all 3 children so we can do something for our anniversary instead of something for Halloween. I can't decide what to wear, well I know what I am wearing AFTER dinner, just not TO dinner, should I go with the LBD or should I go for color? ARGH!! anyhoo..I probably won't be around this weekend because after we check out of the Resort, thing one has a soccer game and there is also another Art fair on Sunday and I Will be keeping other peoples children occupied while the parents spend lots of money(hopefully on my mother's painting's). Love to you hope your weekend is fun and I will see ya on Monday!

First ever pics of my Tattoo's

So, 2 years ago in July I started a project that I never imagined would take so long to finish. Still not complete, this is the first published picture of my left arm sleeve. For a long time my Tattoo artist asked that I not post any pictures of my arm because it looked disjointed and not so hot. I was volunteering at a local art fair last weekend and a photographer for the event asked if he could do some shots of my arm as another form or exapmle of local art. This is the picture that he decided to use in his article and he sent it to me for my approval. I look at my tattoo everyday but had never seen it from someone else's perspective, it's pretty freakin' cool if I do say so myself! I am lucky enough to have a job where no one forces me to "cover myself" or try to "fit in". All my life I have adored tattoo's and just recently married a man who is also a lover of body art and didn't care how I expressed myself but loves me for who I am. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Oh my aching head...

So I am sitting at work and have one of the worst headache's i think I have ever had. It is Friday and although I start work at 6am I don't get off until 3, I am just wishing I could lay down and close my eyes to the pain. I have had said headache for going on 5 full days. I was taking Topomax(which I hated) and it wasn't helping so I stopped taking it and do not miss the forgetfulness, tingling fingers/toes, lack of sex drive or the stuttering that it caused. I have a prescription for Maxalt but when I take them I feel like my eyeballs will explode from all the pressure in my skull.
I have been battling Migraines for about 2.5 years now and have tried many different prescription drugs, none of them seem to help much, if they do it is usually only for the first couple of weeks then back to never ending pain...ARGH. I have been to see my regular doctor and have gotten Toridal shots that seemed to help until they did a blood test and realized that my Liver was not happy (increased cretin(sp) levels). I am at the end of my rope, I am snappy with the kids and am sure that I am driving my husband up the wall with all of my demands for peace and quiet.
Does anyone have a holistic approach that they can suggest, I am sick of pumping my body full of useless pharmaceuticals that never seem to solve the problem only cause more.....HELP ME before I completely lose my mind(or what little I have left!!!)

Fantastic Story

I read this today on "Fantastagirl's" blog and it brought tears to my eyes.....I hope she doesn't mind that I stole it. I think there is a definite lesson to be learned here.

The story of the butterfly

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly.
One day a small opening appeared.
He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours
as it struggled to squeeze its body through the tiny hole.
Then it stopped, as if it couldn't go further.

So the man decided to help the butterfly.
He took a pair of scissors and
snipped off the remaining bits of cocoon.
The butterfly emerged easily but
it had a swollen body and shriveled wings.

The man continued to watch it,
expecting that any minute the wings would enlarge
and expand enough to support the body,
Neither happened!
In fact the butterfly spent the rest of its life
crawling around.
It was never able to fly.

What the man in his kindness
and haste did not understand:
The restricting cocoon and the struggle
required by the butterfly to get through the opening
was a way of forcing the fluid from the body
into the wings so that it would be ready
for flight once that was achieved.

Sometimes struggles are exactly
what we need in our lives.
Going through life with no obstacles would cripple us.
We will not be as strong as we could have been
and we would never fly.

Surgery update

Just a quick update, the surgery went fine, the tumor had rooted itself into the muscle in my butt and they had to remove a small piece (of butt muscle), so the doctor said I will be more sore than I would have been otherwise. In other news he said the tumor just by sight looked totally benign but that they were going to send it off for testing "just in case". Hope all is well with everyone and when I have my shit together more I will update with more info....xoxo

Surgery tomorrow

So again, I know it has been awhile (even I am getting sick of saying that...) I have had doctor appointments what seems like everyday and Tennis matches for Thing 2. We had to get Thing 1's hair dyed (she went dark and it looks sooo cute), we had to volunteer at the car show this weekend and knuckles had an eye appointment that didn't turn out so well. To top everything off, I am having surgery tomorrow to remove the lump from my back and also the one from my scalp.
Okay so, lets see where to start....Thing 2, Tennis season for Junior high is now officially over. It was his first season ever and he played really well. He has a great serve and hopefully he decides to stick with it. He gave up a potentially life long soccer career to play so I hope he doesn't hate it or decide it isn't worth it next year.
Thing 1's hair is kind of a long story...at the beginning of junior high (she is now a high school sophomore) she dyed it bright flame red. When her father got married in May his then Fiance told her she had to dye her hair because it CLASHED with the red bridesmaid dresses. So they took her to some random salon in Hawaii and had this fat cow demolish her hair and put these horrible spaghetti looking highlights in it. Well last Friday I paid to have it returned to her natural dark blond (repair job) at an upper scale salon here in town...Looks fantastic and she no longer hates the sight of her own hair...YEAH MOM!!
With knuckles it is a bit of a tear jerker, apparently when he was 2 his right eye quit developing and his brain shut down function to it, because he was still learning how to walk etc... there were no outward sighs such as stumbling equilibrium etc and it still tracks and moves with his left eye so Frankie and his ex never noticed that the eye wasn't working. Knuckles was sitting at the table doing his homework the other day and looked up at me and said " hey Alex did you know that when I close my left eye I can't see anything out of my other one?" my thought..."hummm that is odd!" Frankie...check this out, Knuckles tell daddy what you just told me!" he repeats story... one eye appointment later we have a 6 year old that wears glasses that only correct his vision to 20/50 and needs to see a specialist in order to regain sight in his right eye...who would have thought....
And last but not least, my surgery will not be talked about until it is over because I don't know anything and I am not going to worry until I have something to worry about. XOXO

Slacker....yeah that's me!

So I know I haven't been writing much, I have a lot going on, doctor appointments nearly 2 times a week. I have a condition called Adenomyosis.I also have severe headache's that they think may or may not be migraine and may or may not be tension. I also found out today that a lump that I found about 6 months to a year ago on my scalp MAY be a tumor, it could also just be a cyst.... because it is on my scalp they can not take it out in the Dr's office, it has to be taken out in the OR and I have to be Knocked out...I HATE being knocked out! Can you say Stressed out....so instead of venting I have been hiding...anybody else do this? I have decided to post some pictures of things that make me happy...enjoy!!!

The first one is me and thing 1 & 2 a couple weekends ago...still summer, the second one was taken by my talented daughter of my handsome son and the third pic is thing 1 & 2 when they are at their best and behaving and loving each other...oh how I wish it was always this way! Until next time....kbye

Fantastic weekend fun...

We had a blast, first of all, we stayed at The Arizona Grand Resort in Phoenix( Frankie wouldn't let me post that prior, as he thought someone would stalk us and kill thing 1 and 2 even though no one reads my blog...lol) it is fantastic, totally kid friendly. They have 3-5 restaurants on-site depending on what time of year it is as to how many are open, a spa, golf course, water park, fitness center, movies after dark...everything you could ever need without leaving the property. The rooms had recently been remodeled, the beds were amazing, the pools were well taken care of(Frankie owns a pool company and has issues with public pools and he swam...miracle!!!) The Hotel catered to our every need.We hardly ever even put on regular clothes, mostly walked around in our bathing suits ALL weekend...not to worry, everyone was doing it.When eating in the restaurants we threw on a sundress or the likes but mostly..flip flops and bikinis etc. Fantastic! They had a shuttle service that ran to a nearby mall, one of the biggest outlet malls in AZ(Superstition Springs I think?), and it was incredibly all very affordable.
Now the thing is...and fill me in if this happens to you as well, the second we pulled back in to Tucson Thing 1 and 2 started fighting. For 3 whole days they didn't utter a single negative word towards each other or lay a finger on one another but as soon as we were back it was like the good bad switch...wow....I just don't understand. It is very frustrating especially after having such a fantastic weekend.
Last night, yuck, our power out for like 9 hours, more on that later!

You are popular, even with people who tend to have picky taste.

Kids love you, as do dogs. From rednecks to snobs, most people have a place for you in their hearts.

As popular as you are, there are some people who can't be near you.

Don't take it too personally. There's just a few people you rub the wrong way.

This is really quite cute, the funny thing is ...For most of her childhood I called thing 1 peanut because she was always butting into conversations where she had no right...peanut gallery..get it. For years it infuriated her. Actually one of my favorite, but sadly never accomplished, Halloween costumes for the whole family was picture frames with peanut portraits painted on them with holes cut for our heads...the family going as..."The peanut gallery" ...what do you think...Funny huh?!?We are leaving today!!!! YEAH!!!!I am so Frickin excited I can hardly wait. the day seems to be speeding by too which is awesome, usually when you are waiting for something the day creeps, not so today. I am super busy and WOW I just can't wait. The only thing that sucks is it is supposed to rain all weekend, keep your fingers crossed for us that we get some hours of sunshine so we can ride the amazing 8 storey water slides and bake or brains by the beautiful blue wave pool. Love ya!!! See ya on Tuesday!! Peace out.

Catch me if you can...

I am beat, I had to help Granny with a yard sale this weekend. So during the week I normally get up at 5:15 am to go to work...this weekend the yard sale started at 7 and she wanted me there at 7 so no sleeping in. I was up at 6am both Sat. and Sun. I can't believe that I didn't get anything around the house done either. I believe only one load of laundry got done. Our dumb college neighbors had a party Friday night and they weren't so bad but the noise they were making was enough to upset the dos who decided it was a smashing good Idea to bark all night long..... never enough sleep...I am sure I could sleep for the next three straight years and still not sleep enough.
We are going to Phoenix this weekend to stay at a resort/spa I think we are going to have a blast. It is just Frankie and thing 1 and 2 and myself, knuckles was going to come with us but as punishment for his little incident at school last week we decided that his not joining us would be proper punishment that wouldn't punish us all. When you ground a child like knuckles from TV, no one can watch TV because he doesn't care what he is watching as long as he is watching....we call it TOBO.....TV On, Brain Off...all you moms out there know exactly what I mean, so in essence it punishes us all because the TV has to remain off otherwise he is glued to it. Anyway I am going to try to take a nap before Frankie gets home and I will chat with you all later....bye internet....MUAH!

Weird pregnancy dreams....

Mary had the fantastic idea to share funny or weird pregnancy dreams, mine goes a little something like this....
I am laying on the delivery room table and my legs are up in the stirrups, I can see the doctors head in between my legs and my husband at the time is standing beside me holding my hand counting 1...2...3...4...we all remember the drill. The lights over head are bright and hot I feel as if the entire world is trying to squeeze out through my 19 year old vajay...and I am generally just scared out of my mind, with one last push the doctor stands up victorious and says "Congratulations Mrs. M It a girl" and my husband promptly says " Holy shit sweetheart you just gave birth to Quatto" Little back story for those of you who don't know who Quatto is, a little movie starring the Governor of California had recently come out called Total recall and the leader of the rebel army was an alien named Quatto who lived inside a mans stomach... I'm sure if you can search you tube and find his one appearance in the movie but I am at work and don't have access to streaming media (sorry)....Long story short...too late... my worst fear was that when my daughter was born she was going to resemble Quatto from the movie Total Recall....Funny or not the only other dreams I had while pregnant were the requisite cheating husband dreams...lol

Grenede?!?

So the phone rings....
Frankie..."Hello, yeah, you're kidding right , no, okay I'll be there soon."
Apparently knuckles tells his teacher at parks and rec that he has a grenade in his backpack and he is planning on blowing up the entire school and everyone in it.
The school evacuates and calls 911, keep in mind that knuckles is only 6 years old and even though he has a very vivid imagination probably doesn't even know what a real grenade would look like.
Long story short our son has been suspended from after school daycare. Can you say taking zero tolerance too far.

my frankie...

when i tell you i love you, i don't say it out of habit or to start a conversation. i say it to remind you that you're the best thing that's ever happened to me.....

Today's Headlines...

First of all I would like to say that I am a huge fan of America's next top model, I have watched every season with Thing 1 and our favorite thing to do is rip the girls apart and and argue about who we think is going to win and who isn't and why. Did anyone read about the new controversy surrounding this season? A transgender contestant... to me NO BIG DEAL!!! This has apparently caused quite a stir in the religious (and non-religious i suppose) community's. People feel that because someone has changed who they are they shouldn't be allowed to follow their dreams? This to me seems absurd!!! Last season when the "heavy" girl Whitley made it to the final 3 everyone said there was "NO WAY" that she would win, "Tyra has more sense than to get that poor girls hopes up like that" etc... well look at that, she won and she is actually working...imagine that! What is the big frickin' deal about a transgender? Isn't the point of being a model looking good in the clothes, or more appropriately...making the clothes look good? Does it matter that you were once a male and are now female or just that you make the clothes look good....I say "RIGHT ON TYRA!!!"

Quote of the week.....

One of my favorite quotes by John Mayer...(unfortunately)

"This is about all of us. Everyone of us. Who all seem to know deep down that it is incredibly hard to be alive and interact with the world around us but will try and cover it up at all cost. For as bad ass and unaffected as we try to come off, we are all just one sentence away from being brought to tears, if only it was worded differently....."
Today has been NUTS, I wish I could take a Do-Over..
On my way to the dermatologist to have little slices of my skin removed all for the good of my own body....right???

I JUST GOT A WII!!! wOOt!

Update on the "EYE" kind of like the "claw"...Lol

Yummy, Famous Dave's BBQ for dinner tonight. They have the closest thing to my grandma's Kentucky coleslaw that I have ever been able to find!!! Oh and I have not one but two seperate sty's in my right eye, nice eh? Ever hear the song "Melt with you" by Modern English? In High School all I ever wanted was to find a man that made me feel that way, I think my search is over!

It all fine and well untill some one loses an eye...

So I wake up about 3:30 am on Monday morning with what feels like an entire sand box in my right eye, I stumble blind to the bathroom and turn on the light. After the 20 or so seconds it takes of what it feels like staring into the sun I stare at myself in the mirror and OH MY GOD, my eye is nearly swollen shut and the bottom eyelid looks as if it is trying to turn itself inside out. It is red and hurts all the way down into my cheekbone. The eye itself isn't red, not like pinkeye, I've had pink eye. This is like nothing i have ever experienced. needless to say I am on my way to the doctor to find out what is growing in my eye....wish me luck. Had a fun filled weekend with the EX and kids etc. will fill in later.

In the Beginning there was darkness...

I have been contemplating starting this for awhile now and finally decided that no one can be too busy for 10 minutes a day. In the last three or four months of my sometimes hectic life I have come to the conclusion that I need to experience more than what I am currently. I am excited to finally be writing this very first post after lurking and commenting a little on others blogs. I would like to thank Sheila for being the one to push me over the edge into what I think may be the abyss... :)
